Paint Bottom Edge Siding

Back brush by working the paint into cracks and onto the bottom edge of shingles and siding with your paintbrush. While paint does tend to somewhat glue these pieces together caulking them is never advised and can cause permanent damage. Coat the top edge of the siding where it meets the top of the wall the bottom edge where it meets the foundation and all other areas that a larger brush will not reach such as into the overlaps between siding panels seams between sections and around doors and windows. Once all caulk is dry and your siding is clean you ll paint hardie plank with a high quality exterior grade acrylic latex. Then brush with the grain of the wood to smooth the paint. Lp siding products also come in sheets in when water runs down the face of the siding it tends to hang on the bottom edge wicking up and causing the bottom edges to swell and delaminate.
